Finn Green first saw the Sound of Music when he was eight years old, and says that as a young boy he loved the music and the story. His enjoyment of the piece is what’s brought him into this production, and we are so pleased he’s on board.
Of playing Rolf, Finn says that he gets to go through many emotions, transitioning from an innocent young adult who is in love with Liesl, but has to come to terms with the effect that joining the Nazi party has on that relationship. **Spoiler Alert** Unlike in the film, Rolf’s love for Liesl does win out over his commitment to the party in a small way, ensuring Liesl’s, and her family’s, freedom.
It’s a huge range for a young actor to play, in only a few short, but pivotal, scenes. Finn Green is another performer who says he likes to transition into his character by taking some space, some quiet, and a few deep breaths – lucky we are performing in such a peaceful setting! You might catch an errant cast member meditating in the garden before the show!
